 communication Protocol

Our Interscholastic Athletics Communication Protocol outlines how athletes, coaches, and parents can maintain effective and respectful communication to support success on and off the field.

Purpose: Promote positive sporting behavior, build character and teamwork, cultivate self-advocacy, and ensure safe, supportive environments for student-athletes.

Communication Steps:

  1. Student-Athlete talks directly with their coach in person at a mutually agreed time.
  2. If needed, the parent/guardian joins the athlete in a meeting with the coach.
  3. If concerns persist, the Athletic Director joins for a final discussion.

For Parents/Guardians: You may discuss matters specific to your student such as health, safety, recruitment, or performance improvement. Topics like playing time, team strategy, or other athletes are not appropriate. Please observe a 24-hour grace period after games or practices before reaching out.
